Archetypes

From Dawngate Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Throughout Dawngate, there are many different Shapers. Each of them has specific qualities tacked on to them. Some of these are as simple as the rage of their attacks, or what type of damage they deal. However, underneath these simple mechanics lay another, more complex system involving specific statistics that apply to each character on a case by case basis. These statistics are directly influenced by what kind of archetype a character is. Currently there are 6 different types of stat spread, with a few exceptions here and there that exist outside of the others. These are Assassins, Bruisers, Carries, Mages, Supports, and Tanks. While what each of these kind of characters would be are fairly obvious due to the use of these words in other MOBAs, in Dawngate these typings take more of a direct hold on the character due to the corelation with the stats of each of them.

Assassin[edit | edit source]

Stat Type Starting Amount Gained Per Level
Health 530 +78
Health Regen 7.5 +0.6
Basic Attack 59 +2.6
Attack Speed 0.67 +2.6%
Move Speed 395 +0
Armor 19 +3.3
Magic Resist 33 +1
Attack Haste Ratio 0.3 +0
Spell Haste Ratio 0.6 +0
Attack Power Ratio 0.3 +0

The only exceptions to this would be both Faris and Freia. Faris instead has 525 (+76) Health, 54 (+2.2) Basic Attack, 0.67 (+2.6%) Attack Speed, 380 Move Speed, 18 (+3) Armor, 33 (+0.5) Magic Resistance, 0.2 Attack Haste Ratio, and 0.2 Attack Power Ratio, most likely due to his mobility and his % damage from his W. Freia on the other hand has 540 (+80) Health, 9 (+0.85) Health Regen, 61 (+2.7) Basic Attack, 400 Move Speed, 19 (+3.1) Armor, 33 (+1.3) Magic Resistance, 1 Attack Haste Ratio, 0.2 Spell Haste Ratio, and 1 Attack Power Ratio. This is probably because she is meant to be of a frontline tank/assassin mix, rather than a full on assassin, on top of the fact that she auto attacks more often than using her abilities. Other than that, both Viridian and Kindra follow this formula perfectly.

Bruisers - Abilities[edit | edit source]

Stat Type Starting Amount Gained Per Level
Health 515 +77
Health Regen 7.5 +0.65
Basic Attack 59 +2.4
Attack Speed 0.67 (+3.1%)
Move Speed 390 +0
Armor 19 +3.4
Magic Resist 33 +1
Attack Haste Ratio 0.6 +0
Spell Haste Ratio 0.6 +0
Attack Power Ratio 1 +0

These statistics are the typical numbers assigned to any characters that are ability bruisers. There are a no exceptions technically, since all Bruisers who focus on using abilities have these stats. However, there is a secondary form of these Bruisers, which are the ones that focus on Basic Attacks rather than abilities for their damage. People under this Archetype are Basko, Cerulean, Petrus, and Salous.

Bruisers - Attacks[edit | edit source]

Stat Type Starting Amount Gained Per Level
Health 525 +78
Health Regen 8 +0.5
Basic Attack 63 +2.7
Attack Speed 0.67 +3%
Move Speed 395 +0
Armor 21 +3
Magic Resist 33 +1
Attack Haste Ratio 1 +0
Spell Haste Ratio 0.2 +0
Attack Power Ratio 1 +0

Every single Attack Bruiser that is currently in the game has these statistics. These are the second type of Bruisers that are inside the game, the first being the Ability Bruisers. This type of bruiser focuses much more on using Basic Attacks in order to deal damage. As such, along with the great Haste and Power ratio of 1.0, most attack bruisers will build more towards items like Adamance or Equilibrium in order to cater towards that character's strengths. Shapers that have this archetype would be Marah, Moya, or Voluc.

Carries[edit | edit source]

Stat Type Starting Amount Gained Per Level
Health 520 +77
Health Regen 5 +0.6
Basic Attack 58 +2.2
Attack Speed 0.71 +2.4%
Move Speed 370 +0
Armor 16 +3
Magic Resist 33 +0
Attack Haste Ratio 1 +0
Spell Haste Ratio 0.15 +0
Attack Power Ratio 1 +0

Carries are then main damage dealing classes of the game; they mostly forgo their abilities, instead opting in to a build focused completely around their Basic Attacks. With great scaling on both Attack Speed and their Attack Power, most people build the with high Haste so the can hit fast and chase fast. However, building a bit of Power on the side isn't a bad idea, as it allows you to quickly rack up the damage on your carries. Characters that are classified under this archetype would be people like Kensu, Mikella, Nissa, Ronan, Tess, Varion, and finally Vex. The only characters who have stats that are different than the ones listed above are both Kensu and Mikella, who have 46 (+2.2) Basic Attack stats. It is assumed the increase is because of both Kensu and Mikella having an ability that increases their damage on auto attacks above their normal amount. However, if that were true, than both Ronan and Vex should also have this decrease. This is probably for balancing reasons, although it is weird nonetheless.

Mages[edit | edit source]

Stat Type Starting Amount Gained Per Level
Health 450 +67
Health Regen 5 +0.45
Basic Attack 54 +2.8
Attack Speed 0.67 +1.6%
Move Speed 380 +0
Armor 15 +3.1
Magic Resist 33 +0
Attack Haste Ratio 0.2 +0
Spell Haste Ratio 0.6 +0
Attack Power Ratio 0.2 +0

The are the baseline stats that any character underneath the Mage archetype will have. These characters all have high Spell Ratios, due to being completely based off spellcasting in order to deal any damage or cc any enemies. Characters that fit under this archetype are Amarynth, Ashabel, Fenmore, King of Masks, Lillin, Sakari, and finally Zalgus. There are no exceptions to these numbers, as none of these Shapers have had to be have their statistics tampered with so that they would be balanced, only their abilities. Almost pure racecar builds are fairly effective on these characters, since most of their damage will come from their abilities and not the scaling from Power that is taked on top. However, even mages need defense, and as such the item Prosperity was often rushed by then as a quick and powerful defensive item.

Tanks[edit | edit source]

Stat Type Starting Amount Gained Per Level
Health 530 +78
Health Regen 8 +0.75
Basic Attack 61 +2.8
Attack Speed 0.67 +2.4%
Move Speed 385 +0
Armor 20 +3.1
Magic Resist 33 +1
Attack Haste Ratio 0.5 +0
Spell Haste Ratio 0.5 +0
Attack Power Ratio 0.8 +0

Tanks are as they sound. While they are the "tankiest" class in the game, they do not seem like it at first. At level 20, they still only have a base of 2090 Health. However, where the tankiness comes in is from the abnormally large amount of Armor and Magic Resistance that it gets on top of it. Ending with a total of 82 Armor and 53 Magic Resistance, it gives you basically 40% damage reduction against Physical Attacks. Magic Attacks are also reduced by around 25% of their base damage, not including that this is before building something like an Order for even higher levels of armor, or an Empathy for a highly defensive mix of stats. Characters inside this archetype would be people such as Desecrator, Flin, Kahgen, Kel and Raina. Out of all of these, there are no exceptions to the statistics above within any of their individual numbers.
