Items can be purchased by Shapers in order to improve their Stats. Items are purchased with the Vim that a Shaper collects from laning, killing jungle creeps and spirit well workers, and from participating in fights with other Shapers. A Shaper can have at most 6 Items in their inventory at a time, as well as 2 Consumable Items. All Items start as one of 6 basic items which can be upgraded into many advanced items and then into even more legendary items.

Each Item a Shaper purchases improves their Stats and can confer an additional passive bonus. Passive bonuses of the same name do not stack, so a Shaper with the Items Conquest and Decay only receives the Expose Weakness II effects from one of them, even though they both have it as a passive effect. Some Items provide additional effects with a cooldown. When the effect activates, the Item goes on cooldown, and the same effect will not occur until the Item comes off cooldown again. Unwanted Items can be sold for half price.

Consumable Items can be activated like other Abilities to confer a temporary buff, such as alerting you to the presence of nearby enemy Shapers or improving your maximum Health and HP regeneration in combat. Healing Potions are the most common Consumable Item and are often bought at the start of the game to provide additional sustainability when away from base.

Life is a basic Health and HP regeneration item. For 420 Vim, it grants a Shaper 120 Health and 10 HP regeneration per 5 seconds (or 2 HP/second). Additionally, it grants the passive buff Consume I, which causes a Shaper to restore 3 Health 33% of the time that an enemy dies in a small area around them. Life builds into items that grant even more survivability as well as playing off the survival that tankier Shapers normally have.

Transfusion (Stackable): You transfuse the allied shaper with the lowest health percentage within 800 range, healing them for 30 Health. This effect has a 15 second cooldown.

Symbiosis: Nearby allied shapers gain 10 Health Regen and Symbiosis. When allies under the influence of Symbiosis deal damage, your cooldowns are reduced by 0.25 seconds. Whenever you deal damage allies under the influence of Symbiosis gain 20 Power for 2 seconds. The cooldown reduction effect can only be triggered once every 0.5 seconds.

Plague Host: The closest allied shaper within 800 range gains 10 Health Regen and becomes a Plague Carrier, infecting enemies whenever they deal damage. The infection reduces the victim's movement speed by 20% and deals 75 (+40% Power) magical damage over 2 seconds. The infection can only apply to the same target once every 4 seconds.

Blaze (Stackable): Your basic attacks set the target ablaze, causing them to take 30 magical damage over 3 seconds, stacking up to 3 times.

Blazing Aura: You are wreathed in flame, dealing 20 (+1.5% of Maximum Health) magical damage per second to nearby enemies.

Hellfire: Your basic attacks ignite the target, dealing 30 magical damage over 3 seconds and stacking up to 3 times. Every third attack against a target affected by Hellfire will cause the target to erupt with flame, dealing 75 (+30% Power) magical damage to each enemy within 500 units.

Resilience is a basic Armor item. For 380 Vim, it grants a Shaper 18 Armor, which accounts for about 18% of their maximum HP as effective hit points against physical damage. It also grants the passive buff Toughness I which reduces incoming damage from basic attacks by 3, or by 6 against enemy Shapers. Resilience builds into items that improve a Shaper's ability to tolerate physical damage and grant Armor and damage reduction.

Lockdown: Taking physical damage from enemy shapers builds a stack of Lockdown for 4 seconds. At 5 stacks Lockdown will activate, reducing any nearby enemies' movespeed by 30% and attack speed by 40% for 3 seconds.
Vanguard (Stackable): Your abilities will deal additional damage. The additional damage is equal to 10% of your Armor and is reduced to 33.3% effectiveness for damage over time abilities.

Ablative Armor: You gain five stacks of Ablation, increasing your Power by 5 per stack for a total of 25 bonus Power. Enemy shaper basic attacks remove one stack of Ablation but are reduced in damage by 15% in the process. Ablation stacks are refreshed upon exiting combat.

Will is a basic Magic Resistance item. For 340 Vim, it grants a Shaper 20 Magic Resistance, which accounts for about 20% of their maximum HP as effective hit points against magic damage. It also grants the passive buff Void which reduces any magical damage taken by 10. The reduction is only half as effective against damage over time effects. Every stack after the first is only 50% as effective.

Mage Slayer: 10% of the raw magical damage that would be dealt to you from shapers is stored instead. The stored damage is released as bonus magic damage on your next basic attack against an enemy shaper.

Power is a basic damage item. For 375 Vim, it grants a Shaper 10 Power, which increases the damage of basic attacks and spells cast by that Shaper. Power increases the damage of physical attacks and magic attacks, though the amount of damage it increases it by depends on the Shaper and the ability. Power builds into items that increase a Shaper's damage output.

Soul Master: Whenever you kill a minion, creature, or worker, you gain permanent bonus Health and Power. Time is a basic Haste item, increasing attack speed, cooldown reduction, and movement speed. For 460 Vim it gives 20 Haste, which grants 8 movement speed and a variable amount of attack speed and CDR. Different Shapers have different Haste ratios for attack speed and CDR. Time builds into items that grant more Haste, Mastery, improve a Shaper's damage output, or decrease the duration of disabling effects.

Giant Killer: Your basic attacks deal an additional 20 (+2% of the target's maximum Health) (+8% of the target's bonus Health) as physical damage. Bonus damage against non-shapers cannot exceed 225 damage per hit.

Netherbind: Basic attacks and melee abilities against enemy Shapers will Constrict them for 4 seconds. The root lasts for 0.75 seconds as a ranged Shaper, and 1.5 seconds as a melee Shaper.

Collateral Damage: Dealing damage with basic attacks fires shrapnel at up to 3 enemies near the target, each dealing 40% of the initial damage dealt to the primary target. Fate applies on-hit and other item effects but will not propagate effects that apply only to the primary target.

Hunger is a basic lifesteal item that gives 5 power. For 460 Vim, it gives a passive effect Dealing damage causes you to restore 5 Health. The amount healed is doubled against shapers. This effect has a 0.5 second cooldown. Hunger builds into items that grant additional lifedrain and also increase the damage output of Shapers, improving the efficiency of their lifedrain.

Consumables[edit | edit source]

Consumables are activated Items that grant a temporary buff. Most Consumables grant buffs that last through death, though their effects will still count down even while dead. Consumable items are used early game to sustain in lane and lategame to provide additional bonuses on top of a Shaper's kit when they don't have the space to purchase any more items. By default, Consumables are bound to the 4 and 5 keys. Consumables cannot be used on other Shapers - they immediately activate on the Shaper that used them.

Vitality Potions are the most common Consumable item in Dawngate and are often purchased as starting items and early game items to provide additional sustain while laning without having to return to base. Healing Potions improve your ability to trade harass in lane better and allow you to heal up after an engagement. When a Healing Potion is used it provides the user with an addtional 50 HP regeneration per 5 seconds and it cannot be broken by damage or combat. Healing Potions will not activate if a Shaper is already full health to prevent waste.

Active: Increases Maximum Health by 135 for 120 seconds. In addition you regain 0.6% of your Maximum Health per second while in combat. This effect persists through death.

Flask of Moxie increases the maximum health and HP regeneration of a Shaper for 2 minutes. The additional HP regeneration is only active in combat, but provides a lot of sustainability during heated engagements, allowing a Shaper to continue to fight for long durations. The effects of a Flask of Moxie are most useful in the late game, as the HP regeneration is percent-based, meaning it scales better off of a Shaper having more maximum health. Multiple Flasks of Moxie do not stack, but the buff granted lasts through death.

Flask of Prowess improves the damage and speed of a Shaper slightly for 2 minutes. The bonus Power provides a slight buff to damage while the additional Haste increases a Shaper's movement speed, attack speed, and CDR, which increases the overall damage provided by the Flask of Prowess. However, the bonuses from the flask are fairly limited and only last for a short period. Multiple Flasks of Prowess do not stack, but the buff granted lasts through death.

Flask of Foresight[edit | edit source]

Active: Allows you to sense the presence of nearby enemy Shapers for 240 seconds. The eye will shift from blue to yellow to red as enemies draw closer. This effect persists through death.

Flask of Foresight grants an additional warning sign of approaching enemies without having to place wards in all locations. When used, an eye appears that changes color depending on the distance of the nearest enemy Shaper for 4 minutes, even if that Shaper is not in vision. Flask of Foresight allows you to see approaching ganks or enemies while farming, letting you escape before the enemy can initiate. Multiple Flasks of Foresight do not stack, but the buff granted lasts through death.
