Marah is a melee physical damage bruiser with a commanding presence on the battlefield. Her safe clearing and brutal ganks make her a proficient jungler, but her ability to control space makes her remarkably effective in the lane, as well. Her gameplay revolves around planting trees to create zones of relative safety, then using her wall of brambles to repel advancing enemies; however, if an enemy strays too close, she can go on the offensive in the blink of an eye, pouncing on intruders and cutting off their escape. Marah's ultimate allows her to transition into a late-game juggernaut, wading into the thick of battle and breaking the enemy's ranks, but because her maneuverability drops substantially after she commits to a fight, she must choose her battles carefully; if she pushes too deep and her enemies scatter too quickly, she's likely to get focused down before she can retreat.

Strong and quiet, like all folk of the holy woods, Marah was always attuned to the passing seasons and animal migrations. Bonding with the Spirit of Growth left her overwhelmed – able to see life swarming in a drop of water, and feel every leaf shiver in the forest.


I haven't slept for days.

"How do you-?" he begins.

I watch the breath leave his mouth. It swarms with life, a cloud of tiny creatures, eyeless and oddly shaped, blown from the humid cavern of his lungs into the sunlight. The spring wind catches them; they twirl away to settle on a nearby bush.

The leaves thrum with the flow of water and strangely colored essences of earth. They tremble from the caress of the sun, energy vibrating into endless rows of brick shapes, constellations of pale green disks. I feel the quake of ants parading along trails of whisper-fine scent tendrils, waving in the air and tickling their antennae.

A bee's glassy wings rock back and forth. A speck of yellow unsticks itself in the downblast. It hangs suspended in an infinite sea of haze, objects that sizzle and wobble like clouds of gnats in the sun. The yellow speck whips aloft.

Enormous weight drift above the earth. Invisible rivers surge and tumble over the land. I feel the shiver of leaves in eastern forests; the sting of ice blown from shining peaks in the north; the sigh of western winds shaking water against the mountains; the parching, abrasive roar of pale sand-clouds rolling across the south.

My head is pummeled, my senses strain to breaking. There's too much. Worlds within worlds within worlds, and... I can't stop seeing them all. I can't not hear it.

"I'm fine," I blurt, rubbing my pounding forehead.

"-feel?" he finishes, with a smile. He takes one of my hands. "You know... you don't seem so different, love."

I watch the blood rushing beneath his skin, and fumble for words that could explain to him the sensation of a jungle blooming, or a glacier withering.

Marah can use her abilities freely.

Whenever a nearby enemy dies, they drop a Seed of Life that Marah can collect to permanently increase her maximum Health. The Health bonus per Seed starts at 3 Health and decreases by 1% for each additional Seed, to a minimum bonus of 0.5 Health after 80 seeds.

Marah sends out a vine, pulling herself to the first enemy or Tree of Life it grabs. If the target is an enemy, Marah roots them as she approaches and strikes them for 80/110/140/170/200 (+75% Power) physical damage when she arrives; if the target is a Tree of Life, Snapdragon's cooldown is refreshed.

Medium Range (625 m) Medium Area

Marah summons a Tree of Life at a targeted location. She gains 6/8/10/12/14% Lifedrain and 20/25/30/35/40% increased Attack Speed while in its aura and for up to 4 seconds after she leaves it. Trees last 5 minutes, and Marah can't have more than 2/3/4/5/6 active Trees at a time.

Medium Range (700 m) Medium Area

Marah unleashes a knot of brambles that grows into a wall at a targeted location, lasting 5 seconds. Enemies struck by the projectile or the spreading wall take 60/100/140/180/220 (+50% Power) physical damage and their movement speed is reduced by 25/30/35/40/45%. Enemies struck by the projectile are slowed for 1 second while enemies in the wall are slowed until they escape it.

Marah surges with lifeforce for 15 seconds, gaining 150/300/450 (+5% Maximum Health) increased Maximum Health and 50% increased attack range. In addition, her basic attacks against shapers stun the target for 0.75 seconds, deal 15/40/65 (+3% Maximum Health) additional physical damage, and heal her for half that amount. This effect can't occur on the same target more than once every 4 seconds.
